UTAH UNDIE RUN 2012
GUINNESS WORLD RECORD ATTEMPT
Sunday September 9th at Library Square SLC.

GOAL

This is a Free Event to the public as well as a Free Expression/Charity Event, and is at the same time a way of changing the world perception of the people of Utah and Breaking a Guinness Book World Record in the process. This event is completely FREE—the only agenda is for Utah to lighten up and to have a great time. It is for everyone, All Body Types, don't take it too seriously.....have fun with it. Go get some sun, do a couple crunches, find yourself some My Little Pony/Sponge Bob Undies, and LET'S DO THIS!!! See everyone Sept 9th.

6:00 pm UNDIE RUN OFFICIALLY STARTS
6:30 pm GUINNESS WORLD RECORD Count at Capitol
7:00 pm Undie Run Social at Library Square with entertainment
9:00 pm Official UUR After-Party begins 21+ TBA.

4:30 pm-5:30 pm
We encourage participants to donate the clothing off their back to the homeless/needy at one of our many designated donation stations. Once you have donated your clothing, head over to one of the "art stations" and feel free to use your body as a canvas and write all over your body what you would like to see change in the state of Utah. This could be law changes or a message supporting any organization, whatever you see fit. Get creative with it. Once you are in your skivvies and covered with statements that are important to you, enjoy the music and check out some of our sponsors’ booths. Or if you’re not already registered to vote, be sure to register at our Registration Station. Many participants may choose to wear costumes, and this is entirely acceptable and encouraged as long as it still falls within Guinness Guide Lines explained later on.

5:30 pm
We will do our Undie Stretches so no one gets a horrific butt cramp ;)

6:00 pm
The Run starts at 6:00 pm sharp. It's 5K, We will leave from Library Square and head over to and run up State Street, and around the Capitol where the official Guinness World Record Count will take place. You will see a fenced area, and on your way into the fenced area you will be officially counted. The Guinness Rules require that you are wearing only Underpants that are made for the purpose of being Underpants, Men CANNOT have a shirt on and Women MAY have a shirt on if they wish. If you are in costume that breaks these rules you will have an opportunity here to fix your attire prior to entering into the fenced area.

Once ALL Participants have entered the fenced area the fence will be closed and all participants must remain in the fenced area for 5 Minutes. There will be music and entertainment during this time. Once the 5 Minutes have passed the gate will once again open and we will run back down State Street to Library Square. At Library Square we will have more speakers, DJs, and entertainment so feel free to hang out and have a good time. The event will end around sunset and if you and your group are still looking to party, all Undie Runners will enjoy Free Admission to the Undie After Party TBA.

RULES & GUINNESS GUIDELINES
We ask that all participants be 18+, beyond that people of any age are welcome.
Guinness Standards: Bottoms must be Underpants/Knickers, Men CANNOT wear a shirt, and women MAY wear a shirt if they would like. We must be in a contained area as a group for at least 5 minutes straight.

WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING:
-Clothing that isn't too worn to donate to the homeless.
-Running Shoes and Socks
-It is a good idea for one participant per group to bring a backpack to hold personal items, purses, wallets, etc.
-WATER
-Hit the bathroom before you come as there aren't any bathrooms along the run
-I.D. if you plan on going to the 21+ after party <

In order to successfully break our own Guinness Book World Record from last year for "Largest gathering of people in their Underpants or Knickers," we need your help. If we are successful each participant can obtain a certificate from Guinness for having been a participant in the event.

Last year UUR2011 broke the Guinness World Record and hit all the local news stations as well as over 300 international news stations around the world, in many different languages. Outlets including Fox News, The O'Reilly Factor, The Washington Post, The Huffington Post, Yahoo! News, The Guardian, and many more covered last year’s event. This year we expect media coverage to be even bigger. Press will have access to the library windows looking over the start of the event.
